Rob and Marc are undergraduate students at Oregon State University located in beautiful Corvallis, Oregon (smack dab between Salem and Eugene). Rob is a Computer Science major with a Naval Science Minor. Marc is a Management Information System major with a Computer Science minor. We are both OTA (older than average) and we are both returning to school after a long stint in the real world (10+ years).
About Quick BlackJack:
Our Computer Science instructor, Jeffery D. Cavener, put up a challenge to our entire class. The challenge was to make some sort of Shareware/Freeware using DATA STRUCTURES that we learned in the class ( Data Structures II using C++). Marc and Rob ventured on this easy, no-frills BlackJack program written in C++ using Symantec C++ version 7.0. We used Queues,Stacks, Arrays, Persistent Objects, Vectors, and The MAC Little Application Framework. The MacLaf program was written by Dr. Thomas G. Dietterich loosely based on LAF (IBM version) by Timothy P. Justice. For more info about MacLAF contact Dr. Dietterich at tgd@cs.orst.edu.
Unforeseen Problems:
Marc and Rob ran into quite a few problems creating this program, just as any software developer knows. We started this program on a Monday and finished it on a Friday. It took us about 60 hours in all to create this small but powerful software. We decided to make it "PostCard-ware" just to see who's out there in the world who appreciates "FREE" software. We are not asking for much for our troubles, except a small measly postcard saying thanks for the effort and keep up the hard work. If you insist on sending us a donation, we will accept it and maybe buy a couple of sodas to keep us going at 2 a.m. while we are hacking new code.
Bugs:
We tested the software as much as possible and feel it is "bug-free" and we take no responsibility for anything that may occur while using the software. We tested the program on several machines, namely a IIcx, SE, PowerMac 6100/66, Quadra 840, and found no conflicts with the equipment or software. It should work on a Mac + or any Macintosh using 6.07 or later software. If you do want to report a "BUG" or problem concerning this software please contact the authors via e-mail or snail-mail as listed above.

New Versions:
We tried to incorporate Color, Split function, and Insurance, but we kinda ran out of time. If there is enough demand, we will update Quick BlackJack with all the above functions and maybe even more (depending on suggestions we get). So please enjoy the program!
